Early Childhood Education

“Creating a home environment that promotes healthy brain development can be one of the biggest gifts parents can give their son or daughter.
Our P2P programs are designed to help support young families and future students and establish a solid foundation for a lifetime of learning.”

Dr. Jacy Clugston Hess, District Assistant Superintendent of Elementary Education.

We fully believe that a high-quality early childhood education is one of the best investments we can offer to our community. Early childhood activities can have a lasting impact on the brain development of young children. We hope that you will enjoy the activities available on this website.  As you progress through the activities with your early learner, know that you are contributing to his or her future success at school and are helping to build the foundation for early reading skills.  We also encourage you to participate in the early childhood programs that the District is offering for preschool children and their parents/guardians to help them better prepare for a smooth transition into the kindergarten classroom. Remember, reading to your child as little as 10 minutes each day can strengthen your child's readiness for kindergarten!  Please reach every child and inspire dreams by reading.  We look forward to the day your children become part of our District.

The P2P Academy, a joint-project of the Ephrata Area School District and Ephrata Area Education Foundation, offers  FREE online tools to assist families with teaching children Kindergarten readiness skills and preparing for their success in school and beyond. DID YOU KNOW: Over 85% of a child’s communication, critical thinking, and problem solving skills are developed by age five? Young children need YOU to help build this foundation and prepare them for success. EARN A $25 GIFT CARD to a local grocery store with each completed module as a thank you for making this commitment to your child’s success. FAMILIES WITH CHILDREN BABIES TO AGE SIX who reside in the Ephrata area are eligible to register and can easily participate from a home computer or mobile device.
