2009 EHS Alumni, Stevie Estime
A little about Stevie: Stevie went on her first trip to Haiti with New Life Mission - Haiti, Inc. in 2011 for one week. She spent time doing children's ministry, visiting orphanages, and spending time with the people in the village. It was at this time that she fell in love with their culture and knew she wanted to return. Since returning home from Haiti in 2012 we have been fundraising for New Life Children's Home and in 2016 we were able to finish construction of the house, 2 room storage building, dormitories for guests & a kitchen. This year we were able to add a cafeteria to the property as well. We have been extremely blessed by several different churches as well as many people who believe in our mission. We really feel called to open this children's home and owe all the glory to God! This past year we brought in our first little girl to the children's home. Her name is Katheline and she is 8 years old. She is a precious little girl and we already love her like our own. Currently, we have housing available to bring in 12 children total. A little more about our mission. We are a 10+ year mission with my husband Zacharie being the Haitian director and Cindy Zimmerman of Lititz as our American director. Cindy leads teams to come to Haiti several times a year. Along with our children's ministry we do prison ministry, small building projects, medical teams, etc. and we are always welcoming new comers so feel free to contact us through email or facebook if you are interested in coming down on a team. 2013 EHS Alumni, Brandon Miller
Baseball has been the only sport I've ever played growing up. Between the ages of 7 and 17, I played for multiple Ephrata teams ranging from Little League to the High School Varsity team. During my 4 years at EHS, I played 3 years of varsity as a 3rd baseman and/or pitcher. One week after the College World Series concluded, I was selected in the 2016 MLB draft in the 6th round (177th overall pick) by the Seattle Mariners. Four days after the draft I was sent to Everett, Washington to begin my pro career. I played for the Everett AquaSox (Low A Short Season) for the remainder of the 2016 summer. Currently I am playing in Clinton, Iowa for the Clinton LumberKings (Low A)

2001 EHS Alumni, Jesse Krimes

A little about Jesse: In 2009, Jesse was indicted by the U.S. government on non-violent drug charges, and sentenced to a 70-month prison term. While incarcerated, he produced numerous bodies of work, established prison art programs, and worked collaboratively with his peers. Since his release in 2014, he has founded the national Right of Return USA Fellowship, supporting formerly incarcerated artists. Krimes also serves as faculty at University of Pennsylvania’s Social Justice Research Academy. His artwork has been exhibited at the Palais de Tokyo in Paris, the Zimmerli Museum of Rutgers University, and the Leonard Pearlstein Gallery of Drexel University among other venues. Krimes is currently represented by Burning in Water Gallery in Chelsea, New York. He also works closely with social justice organizations such as Amnesty International, The Open Society Foundation, Open Philanthropy, and the Mural Arts Philadelphia’s Restorative Justice program to create participatory public art projects. In addition to his independent work, Krimes successfully led a class-action lawsuit against JPMorgan Chase for their predatory practice of charging ex-offenders exorbitant debit card fees. 1996 EHS Alumni, Brent Burkholder
A little about Brent: Born visually impaired, I have never backed away from a challenge, rather have embraced all adversity. I received my Bachelor’s degree from Penn State University and my Masters degree from the University of Baltimore with dreams of working as a Nursing Home Administrator. Approximately 6 years ago I lost my remaining vision due to Glaucoma and quickly realized I needed to change my course while continuing to press on. Unknown to me at that time, this vision loss has become a life changing moment for me and has provided me tremendous opportunity both personally and professionally. I relocated to Winston Salem, NC 4 years ago and work as the Human Resources Manager for IFB Solutions where I oversee all employee relations activities, lead an amazing team of production trainers for all employees across our organization, and am responsible for enforcing all company policies for our 600 employees in our Winston Salem headquarters. Our Vision is Working – see more at www.ifbsolutions.org
